Group Riding Lessons - Spring 1 session

Carlisle Academy’s Group Riding Lessons Program encompasses both mounted and unmounted instruction in a fun learning environment. Each session is an opportunity for a group mounted lesson focused on skills and safety, while unmounted time is spent learning about horse care including grooming and stable management.

This program curriculum is designed for the young equestrian (elementary-aged youth), as an introduction to riding and horse care. At this stage, age-appropriate skills, safety and fun are at the center of all activity!

Done in Partnership with Kennebunk Parks & Recreation. Registration and fees are direct to them.

A Nature-Based Experiential Learning Program for Youth

We use the tranquil farm environment and our surrounding natural world to provide opportunities for elementary school students to develop an appreciation and respect for natural spaces. Providing creative experiences outdoors through hands-on activities encourages students to take risks, problem solve, work together and explore the endless opportunities for growth and connection with each other and nature.

FarmABLE

A Farm-Based Experiential Learning Program for Youth
FarmABLE is an immersion experience into the rich educational opportunities that naturally happen on the farm. Participants engage in meaningful activities, gaining an appreciation for the natural world and learning the importance of being good stewards of the land and animals. Learning modules provide hands-on experiences incorporating valuable life skills such as cooperation, self-care, awareness of self and others, and problem- solving.

Little Boots meeting


April 27, 2024

Carlisle’s Little Boots Program is a USPC Center-Based Program promoting the Pony Club curriculum and its values. It is designed for the young equestrian ages 5-11 as an introduction to horse care and horse management education which is foundational for the Pony Club standards. At this stage, age- appropriate games/skills, safety, and fun are at the center of all group activities including riding time.

During the 6 Saturday morning two- hour sessions, students are assisted by the upper-level PC members and Carlisle certified instructors. The program includes a 30-minute group riding lesson and additional horse management learning stations.

April 27, 2024

Pony Club will hold unmounted/mounted meetings for 6 Saturdays in 2024. Each meeting addresses the levels of Pony Club proficiency in riding and horse management, working towards the individual’s certification track

PONY CLUB PROGRAM is open to youth of all ages and is designed for the committed equestrian interested in learning the Pony Club curriculum, the standards of proficiency of riding and horse management, and participation in center-based and regional activities.
